I am a full-fledged Democrat but am worried for the party and upcoming elections with the way things are going. I like Hillary. I think she has the experience to be a great president. I like Richardson. He has probably the most experience out of all the Democratic nominees.
Now, I like Obama. I think he would make a great VP but I just don’t think he is ready to be president. I don’t think he has enough experience quite yet. Now here’s the thing though. He has already won the Iowa caucus and it seems that he will the New Hampshire primary. His momentum is gaining. This is one of the reasons why I believe that the primaries/caucuses should all happen on the same day. It is too easy for Americans to get swept up in the hype of a candidate after winning a caucus in such an insignificant state as Iowa.
My fear is that this momentum that Obama is getting could eventually hurt the Democrats come election day. If he becomes the nominee my fear is that the Republicans and the Media will keep reminding the American people that he has little experience. At that point, we won’t have another option. I believe it could hurt us in the long run. Independents might go for the Republican. If he does win the nomination he better get someone with experience such as Richardson to be his VP.
Let’s vote for “change” but “change” shouldn’t mean unqualified. Let’s get us an experienced candidate to bring forth real “change”!
