Posted by samishpatrol on January 10, 2008
Mike has tagged me yet again! Is this freeze tag? I am so confused!
First, here are the rules:
Link to the person that tagged you
Post the rules on your blog
Share six non important bizaare things/quirks/habits about yourself
Tag six other people, link to their blogs and then let them know by posting a comment on their blog.
So, here we go…..
1) I love chick flicks!
Chick flicks are often times my favorite movies. I like movies with some substance and movies that are classified as “chick flicks” are better than any movie with fictional stars killing each other with tasers or whatever! Some of my favorite chick flicks are “Where the Heart Is”, “Something’s Gotta Give”, “Hope Floats”, and “The Holiday”.
2) I will stop eating my meal if someone belches at the dinner table.
Well, not really anymore. But, I went through a phase in my Jr. High days when I would stop eating my meal if someone belched at the dinner table. I would imagine their germs being flown through the air and landing on my food. It totally grossed me out! Eventhough, I am not that extreme anymore, I will still pause if someone belches and consider not eating my food anymore.
3) If I don’t hear my alarm clock twice, I get cranky!
If I have to be somewhere early in the morning (like before 9 am) I will set two different alarm clocks to get up in time. If I forget to set one of them or one of them fails and I only hear the one that wakes me up just in time to get ready to go then I become very cranky and irritated. I like having my alarm clock go off between 30 minutes to an hour before I need to get up. I will then go back to bed and have the second alarm get me up just in time to get ready to go. If this routine fails then you don’t want to be near me in the morning.
4) If I can’t listen to my music in the car, I also get cranky!
I have a really hard time either driving or being a passenger in a car if the music playing is not of my liking. I have a really hard time keeping my mouth shut but it honestly bugs me to no end. This is the main reason that when carpooling I like to always drive my car that we all have to listen to my music. Sad, but true!
5) My nose twitches!
Growing up in Jr. High and High School my nose would continuously twitch. Not sure if it was a nervous thing, natural thing, or what. It still does it today but only when I think of it. When I think of it, it automatically happens though.
6) I have a need to be in leadership!
Everything I am involved with I always end up making it so I have a leadership position. In my church life I am a Counselor to the Pastor, Young Adult Leader, Youth Camp Director, etc. In my work life I left my first job as a store manager and was in charge of creating the staff schedules for 14 stores, about 30 employees or so, at my second job. It ISN’T that I have a need to tell people what to do. In fact that is far from it. It ISN’T that I like to receive the praise. I get very uncomfortable with the common “Thank You”. It IS that I love to be apart of the creating process. I love to plan worships and events. I love to create schedules. These are very important functions of leadership and thus why I aspire to be in leadership positions. I get bored by just simply doing my job or by just sitting in a pew on Sunday morning. I actually like the stress that comes from being in Leadership.
I am not going to tag any individuals in particular but if you want to participate, then I invite you to do so!

Sean ~ I actually belch back….and louder if possible. It’s a leadership thing (or is that an alpha thing..I don’t know)

Hmmm…didn’t know about the chick flick thing. That’s something you might not want to share with people!
About your “control freak” about music…yes, the country music you play does bug the crap out of me. Now I know your secret why you always want to drive. When I drove people around in the past, I subjected them to my South African music! I like control over the music, thus why I love solo road trips. I don’t have to worry about other people not liking my music, I don’t have to feel selfish in wanting only to play my music…solo road trips were about me, God, and my music!
But truthfully, I do appreciate hearing the music my friends like because oftentimes, it’ll introduce me to new music I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. You do have good taste in music when its outside of the country genre.
