This week’s featured song is “Testify to Love” by Wynonna Judd. This weekend the young adult group that I co-lead is going up to Vancouver, B.C. On Sunday morning we will be putting on the morning worship for the Vancouver Community of Christ Congregation. The reason why I chose this song in particular this week is because one of our young adults, Allison Richardson, will be singing this song during the morning worship on Sunday.
I remember when I first heard this song. It was featured on the 100th episode of “Touched by an Angel”. In the episode Wynonna Judd guest starred as the parent of a dying child. Towards the end of the episode Wynonna sing this song with all of her neighbors in the street in front of her home. The song is a dedication to her son title the 151st Psalm. We know it as “Testify to Love”. As she sings the song her son dies in the arms of one of the angels on the front porch. It was such a powerful moment. I was in jr. high when this episode aired and it was the first time I remember crying at an emotion scene on TV or in a movie.
