I chose this week’s song for a different reason this time around. Usually, it has to actually do with the song or maybe with how a music video was done. Well, this time I am doing it in honor of American Idol’s return this past week. My choice this week is what I see as one of the greatest American Idol performances of all time and maybe actually the greatest. That performance was country singer Carrie Underwood singing the rock classic “Alone”, originally done by Heart. This performance assured her fans that she would win American Idol that season. Enjoy!
Also, I am going to throw an extra performance into the mix this week. It is Carrie Underwood singing a cover of Guns ‘N Roses “Sweet Child of Mine”. It is so awesome. When I saw her in concert in the fall of 2006 she sang this song and she totally owned it! Unfortunately, on this video her singing isn’t in sync with her mouth movements but it is the best version I could find of it.
