About Samish Patrol
Hey! My name is Sean Langdon! Welcome to my blog! Here is a little bit about me!
I grew up in Mukilteo, WA, until I was 14 years old and then moved to Marysville, WA. I lived there until July 2008. I am currently in transition mode and living at my dad’s in Kirkland, WA, until I find a second job and move out on my own. I hope to move to the Federal Way / Kent / Auburn / Puyallup area! I have 2 younger brothers, Christian and Kevin. My mom is Leanne and my dad is Paul. Though, they divorced when I was really young.
After being unemployed for 16 months, I got a job working for the Share & Care House. The S&CH is a non-profit organization associated with the Community of Christ faith movement. My job is two-fold. Two days a week I work in our West Seattle office at the Representative Payee Desk. For that portion of my job I manage the finances for about 70 DDD Clients, most of which live in Adult Family Homes. Three days a week I work for our Guardianship Office as Visiting Staff. For that I portion of my job I am assigned to 26 clients that I am supposed to see every month. I take most of these clients on outings to restaurants, stores, medical appointments, etc. Essentially, I am supposed to try and enhance there quality of life and make sure they are being take care of. I LOVE my job and really feel that I am doing ministry for a living.
I am very involved with my church, Community of Christ, where I serve in the Priesthood as a Deacon. I direct Camp Genesis, a 3rd and 4th grade camp, and co-direct a young adult retreat as well as help out and attend many more camps at Samish Island Campgrounds! When I moved down south I transferred to the Auburn CofC Congregation. I am enjoying worshipping with the people of the Auburn Congregation.
Furthermore, I co-lead a young adult group called
YAPS (Young Adults of the Puget Sound)! We have one activity every month, put on a service for a northwest congregation once a quarter, and have an annual retreat at Samish every fall. This group has become a vital part of my ministry and I am excited to see what the future holds for it! Check out the YAPS blog.
I absolutely love to go camping and be in the outdoors. Can’t get any better than that! I enjoy going to the ocean whenever I get a chance, unfortunately that is not often enough. Also love to go to concerts and get an adrenaline rush off of the live music! I find long drives with a good friend (or friends) soothing and relaxing. Driving down the road listening to my favorite CD! Gotta love it!!!

LOL! Well, yes and no! I do not get all those TV shows on our cable package so when I am somewhere that has them then I will watch them. Now, out of those shows, I really only religiously watch Brothers & Sisters, Dirty Sexy Money, Boston Legal, Grey’s Anatomy, and 24. Those are all on different nights of the week.

I love Brothers and Sisters. That’s the only one I make it a point to watch. Well, now that October Road is back, then I’ll watch that. I’m not sure I’ll watch “American Idol” in January. I’ll be too focused on the caucus and primary results and all the hoopla on the political talk shows around that time. I lost interest in “Dirty Sexy Money” and though I don’t watch “Boston Legal” often, each show I happen to catch, I actually find funny and relevant to current issues, so I need to make that a habit.
